Suggestions for Department Organization of Plato Folders

The following image suggests a pattern for organization of folders where majors have individual folders within a majors folder, and faculty have both personal and special project folders:

Because URLs will be as long as the path of folders leading to a desired Web page, department administrators should keep folder names as brief as possible and use no capital letters or spaces.

The URL to a student page in this model, for example, would be http://plato.mercyhurst.edu/department/majors/username

Departments are free to organize their folders as they see fit, and may make any agreements with students about the use of folders as they see fit. Regardless of any individual departments agreements, though, all users are bound by the policies of the IT Code of Conduct for the Use of Information Technology.
